Cooking Class: Master Vegan Thai Specialties

Turn up the plant-based goodness in this in-person cooking class with Chef Chris, where Thai dishes take on distinctive vegan flair. You'll learn to put flavor first in a selection of Asian-Pacific dishes that define Thai cooking as one of the world's most popular cuisines. 


You'll begin by creating a vegan fish sauce made with seaweed and dried shiitake mushrooms before preparing a refreshing green papaya salad. Then, it's onto red coconut curry featuring fried tofu, flavored with warm chilies and cilantro. Add some sweetness to the menu with a sweet sticky rice peppered with mango for dessert.

Vegan Fish Sauce

With seaweed, soy sauce, miso and dried shiitake mushrooms


Green Papaya Salad

With lime juice, chilies, peanuts, carrots, brown sugar, garlic and cilantro


Red Coconut Curry With Fried Tofu

With lemongrass, galangal, chilies, kaffir lime, cilantro and firm tofu


Sweet Sticky Rice With Mango

With coconut cream, coconut milk, brown sugar, mango and lime zest

I wish the class sizes were capped at 15, besides that it's was spectacular.

Chef Chris was working as an Italian teacher at UC Berkeley when he discovered his passion for cooking. Ever since then, he has been following his passion of cooking and teaching with a focus on regional Italian cuisine. He even co-founded a culinary event business to highlight his skills. Chef Chris teaches an array of different highly regarded cooking classes, many of which are created for corporate teambuilding. He also currently provides walking food tours of Little Italy.
