Cooking Class: Cooking Elevated Sichuan Cuisine

In this interactive cooking class, you'll learn how to create delectable dishes from the Sichuan region of China. Chef Chris will walk you through the process of preparing authentic recipes using premium ingredients. 


Get started by mastering the art of braising eggplant with hot bean paste, ginger and soy sauce. Then, learn the secrets of crafting flawless pork and green onion wontons and preparing a delicious infused chili oil for dipping. For the main course, braise white fish in a blend of dried chilis and Shaoxing wine, and serve it with fluffy steamed rice. Finally, round off your culinary journey with some traditional Chinese walnut cookies for dessert.

Sichuan Braised Eggplant

With hot bean paste, garlic, ginger, sugar, black vinegar, soy sauce, green onions and potato starch


Sichuan Pork and Green Onion Wontons

With ginger, Shaoxing wine, soy sauce, sesame oil and white pepper


Sichuan-Infused Chili Oil

With star anise, cinnamon sticks, Sichuan peppercorns, Sichuan chili flakes, fennel seeds, shallots, garlic, bay leaves, vegetable oil and dry sand ginger


Sichuan Braised White Fish and Steamed Jasmine Rice

With dried chilis, Sichuan peppercorns, Shaoxing wine, celery, garlic, ginger, green onions, white pepper, cilantro, chicken stock and chili bean paste

Our team had an absolutely fantastic time at the chocolate-making class led by Chef Chris! From start to finish, the experience was engaging, hands-on, and incredibly fun. Chef Chris made it easy for everyone—regardless of skill level—to get involved and enjoy the process. The discovery of Biscoff cookie spread was a game changer, and we got to take home delicious, handmade chocolates as a sweet reminder of the day. Chef Chris created a warm and welcoming environment, and his passion for chocolate and teaching really shone through. Highly recommend this experience for any group looking to bond, learn something new, and indulge in some seriously tasty treats!

Chef Chris was working as an Italian teacher at UC Berkeley when he discovered his passion for cooking. Ever since then, he has been following his passion of cooking and teaching with a focus on regional Italian cuisine. He even co-founded a culinary event business to highlight his skills. Chef Chris teaches an array of different highly regarded cooking classes, many of which are created for corporate teambuilding. He also currently provides walking food tours of Little Italy.
