Cooking Classes in Charleston

Chef David created an unforgettable rehearsal dinner for my son and daughter-in-law! From the stunning charcuterie board and incredibly fresh tuna sashimi to the delicious low country pulled pork BBQ, blackened salmon, and homemade banana pudding, every dish was outstanding and our guests absolutely loved every bite!

Chef Crystal was amazing. Thank you for teaching us the art of pasta making and for great conversation. May your pillow always be cool whenever you go to rest hahaha!

Chef Crystal has turned her love and passion for food into her job. She is super enthusiastic and cares a great deal about sharing it with everybody she cooks for and with. Great!

This was our first time doing something like this and it did not disappoint. Chef John was amazing and enjoyed his style of instruction. Highly recommend taking a class with him. The final product was sooooo delicious. Thank you Chef John!

I booked this experience as a surprise for my mom and sister. We were in Charleston for our 30th and 60th birthday celebrations. The food was so fresh, delicious and gorgeous! We couldn't stop raving about it. He was lovely to talk to throughout. I would recommend him to everyone I know. So thankful for such a perfect memory!

Chef John prepared a delicious event for our group of 8 for a bachelorette party! Everyone raved about it and it couldn't have been more delicious! He was easy to work with and seamlessly accommodated multiple food sensitivities. Highly, highly recommend scheduling with Chef John - you will be happy you did!

The experience from the day I booked up until the night of our event was very professional and informative. Chef John made cooking look fun and easy! His presentation was amazing and was delicious! His attention to detail was top notch. We will definitely do this again!

Our family enjoyed every minute of the event. Chef John's execution was outstanding and his flexibility to include all guests as "sous chefs" during our cooking class went off without a hitch! Chef John is a rockstar and his food was outstanding. I highly recommend!

This should NOT be considered “a class”! The description on Class pop should give a better description of what you’re going to be doing! We thought we were going to be learning how to actually make pasta and it was more like a Play-Doh session. There were about 15 couples, EVERYONE was dumb founded. Thank goodness they had cocktails available for purchase, it made it so much easier to just laugh about it because it seemed like we were being Pranked and could not believe that this was it. There were only 3 pots to boil pasta. By the time I got mine in there it was so thick from all the dough and flour prior to mine that I just dug it out put it on a plate and throw it away. There was absolutely zero taste or flavor. It literally tasted like flour, egg, and oil. I do believe if the health department walked in the and saw what we were doing they would’ve shut it down. The entire situation should be done in a kitchen not at high top bar tables. No towels/rags/napkins bowls to mix dough or utensils. It was an absolute mess!! This was the least sanitary cooking conditions possible. Aside from there being little to no instruction, our chef was fine it’s the entire concept is a bad idea under these circumstances! All that being said, WE had a lot of laughs, new memories with my Aunt and made the best out of the situation.

This was the biggest joke of a class that I have ever seen. There are NO TOOLS, they don't teach you to weight ingredients, the "chef" pours a scoop of All Purpose Flour on a table, no instructions on how to knead the dough, or what we need to look for. I was expecting to learn something! They put me on a table with a stranger to knead the dough, I don't know the habits of this person. It is disgusting to me to see my food being handled my a non professional and then I have to eat it....hell no! Then they don't supply rollers, the pictures of the class show a Kitchen Aid attachment cutting the pasta....well guess what? You need to do this by hand! She said, please make sure your dough is thin enough because if not it will be raw...yack!!!! and the sauce was from a freaking jar! This is a waste of money and time.

Unfortunately this class did not meet our expectations and we felt was a complete waste of money. It did not match the description whatsoever which is in part due to classpop and also due to the chef. Definitely would not recommend booking any cooking classes on this site.

Took the “class” on basic pasta making with pasta sauce.   Location:   Sitting at a pub table in a bar.  (the on tap beer I had was the highlight of the evening) Cooking utensils:   Plastic cutting board and plastic knife.     Recipe:  some flour. An egg or two. Some oil. (was supposed to be salt too, but the instructor forgot that) Instructions:   Make a well in the flour and mix in the egg and oil as needed.   Flatten it out and make whatever shape you want.    Whoops:  just revealed all the secrets and techniques of the class.   Of the dozen or so people there, not sure anyone made anything remotely edible.   Half the people didn’t even attempt to boil their lumps of flattened flour.    But if they did, there was some jarred sauce and kraft shredded cheese to have with it.   (Ad mentioned making a sauce. I didn’t even get to open the jar!) I really just don’t even know what to make of this “class.”    I put class in quotes as it was held in a bar with no cooking utensils, no recipe, no real instruction. I guess think of it as a spam phone call.  Sure, when you get that call you can buy an extended warranty, but would you?   There are some good cooking classes available in Orlando.   This is not one of them.
