Learn how to make two classic sushi rolls from scratch in this cooking class with Chef Jennifer.
The class begins by making perfectly seasoned sushi rice to use as the base of your rolls. Then, you'll also practice your knife skills to chop avocado, cucumber and mango. Spread your sushi rice across nori sheets, then layer your ingredients. Add avocado, cucumber and surimi to make a refreshing California roll. For your second roll, add mango, avocado and cucumber to create a crisp vegetable roll. Next, you'll master the technique of rolling up you sushi by hand and cutting it into bite-sized pieces. Chef Jennifer is a skilled culinary professional with extensive experience in sushi craftsmanship and kitchen management. Holding an AS in Culinary Arts from Keiser University, she has over a decade of expertise in creative menu development, staff training and inventory management. As a head sushi chef and culinary instructor, she's excited to share her professional tips, tricks and techniques along with the skills she has honed working in kitchens with hungry foodies and budding chefs.
