Let kids explore their inner sushi chef in this hands-on cooking class with Chef Washington!
During the class, they'll learn how to make the perfect seasoned sushi rice and practice knife skills as they chop fresh vegetables and fruits. Kids will get to play around with texture and flavor as they layer cucumber, avocado and mango onto rice-lined nori sheets to make maki and hand rolls. They'll finish off their rolls with creative decorations and sesame seeds. After enjoying their homemade feast, they'll end the class with a sweet dessert prepared in advance by Chef Washington. This class was very disappointing and not at all as advertised. The description made it seem like a hands-on cooking class, but it turned out to be more of a social event. At the start, the chef even gave a disclaimer that it wouldn’t be interactive, which was frustrating since that wasn’t mentioned beforehand. The food itself was not good, and the entire experience felt disorganized. The chef appeared uninterested and disengaged, and during the Q&A it seemed like he just wanted to get through it rather than teach or connect with the group. My friends and I were never invited to participate in any part of the cooking, despite being told we might get a chance to help. Overall, it felt like the chef was simply there to get paid and leave. If you’re looking for a true hands-on ramen class where you can learn and cook, this is not it.
