We were genuinely looking forward to this experience, as we are both passionate about cooking and intentionally selected this class as a special holiday activity. Unfortunately, the experience fell well below the standards advertised and did not reflect the price paid. The class description did not disclose that pets or children would be present. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a young, underage child who began offering alcoholic beverages to guests, which we found inappropriate and unprofessional. Throughout the evening, both a cat and a dog remained in the kitchen and dining areas while food was being prepared and served. The animals circulated among guests during the meal seeking food. This created clear hygiene concerns and was not consistent with what we expected from a paid culinary experience. Additionally, the home and food presentation did not match the listing photos or description. The space appeared unclean and generally unkempt. The kitchen was extremely confined and not suitable for a group of approximately ten guests to participate safely or comfortably. From an operational standpoint, the chef did not appear adequately prepared. On multiple occasions, she stepped away for several minutes while food remained on the stove, leaving guests uncertain about how to proceed. The event functioned largely as a passive cooking demonstration rather than an interactive class, with minimal hands-on participation. Guests stood for nearly three hours and frequently had to prompt the host for direction. Most concerning, we observed the chef wipe a cooking utensil with her finger and lick it before continuing food preparation. This raised serious sanitation concerns. When it was time to dine, there was no guidance regarding seating or service, and guests organized themselves without direction. During the meal, the pets continued moving between guests seeking food. Given the cumulative issues — lack of disclosure, sanitation concerns, unprofessional conduct, and the significant disparity between the advertised experience and what was delivered — we do not believe the cost of this experience was justified. We are respectfully requesting a partial or full refund to account for the material differences between what was advertised and what was provided. We would appreciate your prompt review of this matter and a response outlining how you intend to address these concerns.
