What You’ll Do

Let Chef Melissa spirit you away to the kitchens of Taiwan in this exhilarating in-person cooking class. You'll learn the heritage behind this island's incredible cuisine as you learn to make the most quintessential dishes for yourself. Chef Melissa provides a homemade stock and homegrown vegetables to get you started on fresh egg drop soup. Prepare a savory kung pao chicken served over rice studded with flavorful peppers and roasted peanuts. You'll also create bok choy stir-fry style and bake a traditional egg cake flavored with honey for a sweet dessert.

I had the most incredible time at this cooking class! The instructor was absolutely amazing—so incredibly kind, highly insightful, and she brought such a fun, infectious personality to the entire session. From start to finish, the energy was perfect, and I genuinely enjoyed every single moment. I walked away with fantastic new skills and a full stomach. We joined Chef Melissa for the Treasures of Taiwan cooking experience. She was super energetic, passionate about her craft, and attentive to any questions during the entire 2 hour class. She covered knife skills, tasting ingredients, spices, baking, and more. Melissa was clearly very dedicated to making sure guests had a great time. The menu was fairly straightforward which was a good fit for less experienced chefs like ourselves. We would definitely recommend this experience and return for another one!

Had a wonderful time at our sushi making class! Chef Melissa made it feel less daunting and incredibly enjoyable. We made all different forms of sushi, got tips for where to buy her recommended ingredients and items, and so forth. We had previously struggled to roll maki at home and get the consistency/balance right, and Chef Melissa walked us through all the various things to consider. Now we know how to do better at home! There was one other couple with us, and Chef Melissa made it a really lovely evening by focusing on this moment together, reflecting on the evening, and remembering to enjoy the present. This was beyond expectations! Most culinary classes/demonstrations are pretty to-the-point / have a lot of structure and lack character, which is fine. But now taking a class with Chef Melissa...I feel like she really set the new standard in classes! Thank you for a wonderful experience, highly recommend!
