Cooking Class: Mastering Sushi Rolls

Join Chef Gilzel in this hands-on sushi making class for intermediate learners. Ideal for those with moderate experience, you'll roll your way through the basics and start mastering knife cutting techniques and more. 


Across five courses, you'll dive into the art of sushi from slicing to rolling ingredients to perfecting sticky rice. Iconic rolls you'll learn how to handcraft include savory salmon donburi, authentic mini soy-sesame glazed spam musubi, classic nigiri sushi and refreshing maki rolls with spicy tuna, salmon, shrimp tempura and vegetables. For dessert, you'll prepare a thick and gooey Japanese bread pudding with brioche, heavy cream, milk, eggs, ginger and berry compote.

With ikura, avocado, cucumber, green onions and ponzu


Mini Soy Sesame Glazed Spam Musubi 

With nori goma furikake, rice and eel sauce


Nigiri Sushi 

With tuna, salmon, avocado, ikura and masago


Maki Rolls 

With spicy tuna, salmon, shrimp tempura, and vegetable rolls


Japanese Bread Pudding 

With brioche, heavy cream, milk, eggs, ginger and berry compote

Chef Lee was a great teacher for the Sushi class for Beginners. She was patient, friendly, and very encouraging. My husband and I had a great experience taking her class. The sushi and desert were delicious, and we had plenty of sushi after her class that we enjoyed later in the day. We can’t wait to become Sushi CHEFs! Love, the Norments
