Cooking Class: Japanese Maki Rolls
Maki is the name for Japanese sushi rolls that are sliced — as we typically see them in the U.S. While there are many types of sushi, maki is one of the most popular. Learn how to make your own handmade maki and various other types of sushi in this guided cooking class with Chef Nancy.
You'll get to create a variety of rolls including maki rolls, inside-out rolls, hand rolls (temaki), kimbap and inaki. You'll learn how to make the perfect sushi rice before selecting from a variety of fresh ingredients to create tasty, artful rolls sure to satisfy all your sushi cravings!
Our cooking classes are designed to be social events that do not require any previous experience. Guests are welcome to purchase beer to enjoy during the class.

A lot of fun! Chef Nancy was very sweet. I anticipated more demonstration rather than her just describing what we were doing, so often times I was a little confused. But we had a great group of people and had a blast!

Meet your chef

More commonly known as the Adobo Queen, Chef Nancy was born and raised in the Philippines as well as in the restaurant industry. Her family has owned and operated an authentic Filipino comfort food restaurant in Manila where she began cooking at a young age. Today, Chef Nancy is a freelance multimedia cooking show host as well as the host of a variety of fun and interactive culinary experiences that champion authentic Filipino fare.
