We arrived at the venue at the scheduled time and were waiting for the instructor with several other attendees for thirty minutes and the chef did not show up. At that point we left.

Really enjoyed Chef Kevin demonstration of preparing Paella. Learn a few cooking tips. Learned how to pass a knife to others and most importantly how to hold knife while cutting items. Very useful. Chef Kevin made the class enjoyable, relaxing, and most of all learn how to make an outstanding dish. Thanks Chef Kevin!
All i need now is the Paella recipe!

Kevin is relatable, kind and fun.
Supplies he ought to offer are paper towels and towelettes.
Option to make add’l roles was not adequately communicated but there was enough raw materials to do just that.
The brewery was a fun environment as well.
A one page “crib sheet” that summarizes basic supplies needed, rice prep ingredient ration (water, vinegar, sugar. Seaweed,etc) and suggestions or key takeaways that summarize the experience would have been appreciated.

Took the day off work and drove an hour for the class. Kevin never showed up. I heard others saying they got an email at 2 pm that it was canceled

Awesome class. Kevin goes the extra mile to explain basic breakdown and proper handling of the tools being used during class, great sense of humor on top of it.

Kevin did an awesome job leading our group through his class. We were a wild bunch, but he kept us moving while also making sure we all enjoyed the experience. The environment was casual and relaxed and we all learned something.

Unorganized, class to big, zero learning. Equiptment to prepare food was poor. Food safety a huge issue.

The experience was playful, fun, engaging and knowledgeable! Chef Kevin and Chef Daiga did a great job at checking in with folx and adding their own tips and tricks to the recipe. My partner and I enjoyed spending quality time together and learning a new recipe! We would recommend this experience and we will definitely do it again!

Chef Kevin is awesome! So personable, fun, and willing to share his knowledge and helpful tips as we worked together to prepare salmon and tuna poke bowls. Our small group was then able to enjoy one bowl per person, and even take home enough for more bowls the next day - and the poke bowls were delicious! This was a fun night for sure, and we hope to hang out with and learn from Kevin again in the future. 😊

Chef Kevin was great, but it was really hard to see and hear him due to the location in f the class. Also, some of the ingredients in the traditional rolls were not offered, so the taste of the rolls was lacking. Overall, I would suggest a different location to allow for a better overall experience.

As an avid home cook this was a fantastic class to learn a new dish. Chef Kevin is a great teacher, along with a good sense of humor to make the evening just plain fun. With Chef Kevin's guidance my paella dish was as good as any restaurant I have eaten in. I look forward to more classes.

I brought my husband and three boys to this sushi class as a Christmas present but May was the first availability. We arrived and Kevin was super friendly and seemed great. We were very excited. I believe this class was oversold and had too many people in it. We were at the end table with one other couple (so 7 people total at our table but there were two more tables of at least 7). All of the tables were prepared with all of the ingredients. Our table did not have any of the fish, salmon mixture or avocado. I had to get up several times to ask Chef Kevin for the necessary ingredients, but then he proceeded to make me feel small for asking for the ingredients that we needed. He was condescending to me and the other woman at the table, kind of making fun of her for no reason. I am still glad we took the class, I now know how to make a roll, but I think he should not make his lack of planning a reason to make our table feel bad. We love the Cider and staff at Waldschänke ! They were great, thus the 2 stars!

This event was extremely disorganized. It started with Chef Kevin being 15 minutes late. He spent way too much time talking about himself versus actually any hands on teaching. Materials were passed out, one knife per table of 8 people to share, not enough cutting boards etc, not even paper towels. Our table did not have enough nori and I had to get up and ask for it repeatedly. He did not have enough sushi rollers so he used mine to show the class how to make the rolls. But then he never gave me my roller back and again I had to go ask for the materials. As far as the sushi, the smoked salmon cream cheese paste was gross for the other roll the salmon and tuna was good quality but amounted to about one order of sushi worth $10. He showed up with a squeeze bottle of Wasabi Sauce that was pretty much empty for a class of about 25 people. Basically we thought the whole class was a cluster and clearly cannot recommend this experience to anyone. We gave it one star because the staff at Waldschanke Cider were nice and the product was good.

Chef Kevin provided a great class that was fun, low-key, and very informative. He answered everyone's questions and made sure to answer them for the whole class, not just to the person who asked, so everyone could learn. The ingredients he provided were very yummy. We are very excited to test out our new sushi-making skills at home soon!

He was such a nice guy and was fun to be around but for the price if would never do a class pop again. You eat off paper plates and don’t get water and the fish sat out for 2 hours before we ate it. Makes me nervous I will get sick. This was also a germ nightmare. He had other people in the class hand out all the supplies and essentially touch everyone’s food. Next time I’m going to sushi den and eating like a king for $150!!!!

I thought that Kevin brought a lot of energy and love to the class. He tried to make sure everyone followed along and got their questions answered. The main disappointment was simply the quality of the rice. It was undercooked (crunchy). Nobody wants crunchy undercooked rice in their sushi. And it wasn't seasoned much with the rice vinegar/sugar. It was rather bland. This may sound picky to some, but if you're making sushi, and the fundamental ingredient is bad, it kind of ruins all the gastronomic aspects of the experience (though I will say, he did pick out some good fish). Also, there was no wasabi, and we had to pretty much beg for soy sauce. I think he was just overextended. It was a big class, and he seemed to be constantly playing catch up. Don't think I would recommend this, unless you're doing it purely for the experience, and don't care what the sushi tastes like.

Keven was very helpful in teaching this new skill. He was really good at making sure that all in the group could see his demos. He had a great sense of humor. He made sure that we followed health code protocols and washed out hands. I would have liked to have had some wasabi and other sauces for the rolls. They were a little plain.
