Join Chef Amal for a bright and playful macaron decorating cooking class made just for kids.
With plenty of guidance and room for creativity, kids will turn delicate macarons into their own edible masterpieces. The young chefs will start with a selection of premade macarons in fun colors and flavors, then learn how to decorate them using edible paints, icing, gels and shimmering powders. No baking or decorating experience is needed for this; just curiosity and imagination. In the end, each child will leave with their decorated macarons and new decorating skills they’ll be excited to show off at home.
Each child must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the class. Adults may purchase a ticket to participate, or children may attend with a single child ticket. Book your spot now!

I booked the April 19 "MACARON MAKING WITH CHEF AMAL AT A LOCAL WINE BAR" in Atlanta. It was terrible. The instructor was a half hour late for the 2 hour class, which, ok Atlanta traffic, sure. When she got here she texted the recipe to one student and had that student responsible for airdropping it to everyone else. Then she spent the next 30+ minutes lecturing disjointedly and stirring the mix on a portable burner while we all just watched. At that point, 1.5 hours from the supposed start time of the class, we had not started any hands on activity. The instructor then threw the entire contents of what she'd made thus far into the trash, brought out pre-made macaron halves and a pre-made filling, and had everyone practice piping the filling and sandwiching the macarons together. That was the only hands-on part of the whole thing. To top it off, the macarons themselves tasted bad. Overall the class was a disappointing and confusing waste of time and money, and not at all what I expected given the cost and class description.

It wasn’t at all what you would expect of a ‘chocolate making’ class. She is a nice person but you don’t get to really do it yourself. You basically make the truffle balls on what she prepared already. It felt much more like she was trying to sell the pot she was cooking on then really trying to teach us something. You can learn to make ganache with an YouTube video for free. Not to mention that she was late for it and a class that is said to last 90 minutes, lasted about 40.

Classpop is really letting this chef down. She is extremely friendly and educated. Venue had no AC and the power kept going out. All in all Amal still made the event memorable and educational.
