Join Chef Damon to explore the unique dishes of the state in this multi-course cooking class!
To start the class, learn how to properly prepare fresh oysters. Top with spinach, savory bacon and Parmesan cheese to make a flavorful Oysters Rockefeller. Next, take a culinary journey to the Big Easy. Learn the technique to make a dark roux as the base of a savory and spicy chicken and andouille sausage gumbo. Then, make classic steamed rice to serve as a side. Finally, whip up a brown butter sauce to top bananas served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream for a traditional bananas Foster. I had such a wonderful time at the Italian Favorites cooking class! We made delicious dishes completely from scratch, and everything turned out amazing. The atmosphere was so fun — good food, good music, and even better company. The instructor was knowledgeable, patient, and made the whole experience enjoyable and easy to follow. I left with new skills, a full stomach, and great memories. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun, hands-on night out!

Chef Damon is a seasoned epicurean with years of experience as an executive chef and cooking instructor. Trained in classic French culinary techniques and holding two culinary degrees, he has four medals from the American Culinary Federation for professional competitions. With a track record of successfully launching restaurants and owning an eco-friendly catering business, Chef Damon combines culinary expertise with a passion for sustainable practices.
