Cooking Class: Sushi and Mochi

You don't have to go out to get sushi. Join Chef Phoebe as she shares traditional Japanese rice recipes and culinary techniques on how to work with raw fish. Start off with Japanese salads prepared by Chef Phoebe. You'll learn the basics of creating okonomiyaki, a savory Japanese pancake, and crispy vegetable tempura. Next comes a selection of nigiri and sashimi sushi rolls. Dessert is a sweet mochi ice cream with homemade mochi.

Chef Phoebe began her culinary journey early at only seven years old after growing up in a food-focused New England family. Her formal culinary education includes studying French cuisine at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and the Culinary Institute of America. After her schooling, she moved to the Bay Area and started her own personal chef service. Chef Phoebe has cooked for foreign leaders, international figures and even presidential candidates.
