Cooking Class: Flavors of the South Re-Imagined

Join Chef Amanda for a re-imagining of homestyle Southern cuisine in this interactive cooking class. Recall the distinct flavors of the South with fresh ingredients inspired by the region. Start with a sweet and savory appetizer of grilled apricots, burrata cheese, prosciutto and arugula with a tangy balsamic dressing. For the main course, pecan-crusted chicken is paired with a rich bourbon au jus and charred broccolini with a burst of citrus, herbs and garlic. Revisit a classic Southern dessert with a strawberry shortbread tart topped with maple whipped cream.

Chef Amanda educated me on how to control gluten formation when creating breads, cakes and cookies. She showed what kind of consistency your dough should be for a sour dough bread or a cake. She is a very good speaker and incredibly informative. I would love to learn more from her again!
