Cooking Class: Sushi Making With Chef Sarah at a Local Brewery
Under the guidance of Chef Sarah, you'll discover just how easy it is to make sushi by hand in this cooking class!
To start, you'll learn the recipe to make traditional seasoned sushi rice. Spread out the rice on nori sheets, then layer smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber to create a rich Philadelphia roll. Next, assemble a spicy tuna roll with sushi-grade tuna and a homemade spicy sauce. You'll master the technique of using a sushi mat to roll up your sushi by hand. And practice your knife skills to cut it into pieces. Enjoy your handmade treats with soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger.

Sarah was a pleasure to learn from. She's personable and her experience and knowledge in food and culture was on full display through her teaching. I learned more than I thought I would and am excited to make dishes I was previously intimidated to make. I would love to take more classes with her and would strongly encourage others to do the same.

Chef Sarah made making sushi super approachable and fun! She was so warm and friendly, and a great teacher. I’d never made sushi before but felt like she explained the methodology really well, as well as proactively answering questions about sourcing ingredients and equipment. Fun! I don’t know who’s responsible for the space the class is held but I didn’t love it. Seemed dark and a bit cramped. Good to see and experience some basic skills for sushi making. Sarah was great.
