Set inside a local brewery, this relaxed and interactive experience is a fun way to explore the basics of sushi-making without any pressure. Chef Ny will guide you through the essentials, starting with how to prepare perfectly seasoned sushi rice and handle nori with confidence. Then, you’ll layer and roll a classic California roll with avocado, surimi and cucumber before creating a bright veggie roll with mango, avocado and cucumber. Along the way, you’ll practice rolling techniques, ingredient placement and simple presentation tips that make homemade sushi look and taste impressive. By the end of class, you’ll enjoy your handmade rolls and leave with the skills to recreate sushi night at home.

Such a fun night with friends. After reading some of the reviews we were not sure what we had gotten ourselves into. Chef Ny kept it short and simple and we sat in a bar with friends and made gnocci! Simple recipe, freedom to try different shapes, a little boiled water and a dinner of gnocchi (dough balls) with a little tomato sauce. Met new people and had a great night. If you are looking for a culinary school this isn’t it, but if you want to make gnocchi with friends it is a great time!

This was highway robbery. It was $120 for my wife and I to make gnocchi. It consisted of flour, oil, egg , salt and 1/2 cup of cooked potatoes. The chef began the evening by telling us she was going to get us out of there as quickly as possible. This was a date night... the goal was not to rush through! The class was advertised as not only making gnocchi, but also making tomato basil sauce. The chef said there was no time to make the sauce and not enough pots. So she was serving us Prego from the jar. We ate our cooked gnocchi with the Prego sauce in Styrofoam bowls. There wasn't even a water bottle offered. You could buy a drink. No salad, no bread... nothing other than the gnocchi you made and the jarred sauce ladled on top with processed parmesan cheese. We enjoyed the people we sat next to and we learned how to make this pasta. But don't waste your money.

Chef Ny brings to the table a passion for food and an Associate Degree in Culinary Management. Chef Ny knows the ins and outs of ensuring a smooth operation in the kitchen and quality checks for fresh ingredients. Working with foods like produce and preserved meats is a skill Chef Ny mastered and can readily pass along. Students will learn the best ways to keep kitchen space clean and the importance of such a task.
