Cooking Class: Bake Baguettes and Other French Breads

Enjoy a timeless, fragrant French bakery experience in the comfort of your own home. 


Nothing warms a hungry soul quite like hot bread fresh from the oven. In this hands-on class, Chef Stephanie introduces you to the traditional techniques of French baking to achieve your own classic loaves. You’ll learn how to knead, loaf and bake three mouth-watering variations using only water, yeast, flour and salt. Breads you'll create include a classic baguette with a thin, crackly crust; a salty, herbed fougasse with a spongy center; and impressive, elegantly shaped epi rolls. Once you've learned to craft your own fresh French bread, you may never visit your local bakery again!

Our afternoon learning how to mix and pipe our own Pâte à Choux with an experienced teacher in Chef Stephanie was nothing short of amazing. Chef's Stephanie's intimate setting and encouragement was the perfect complement to my girlfriend's amusement over my awful piping bag technique. She also took the time to explain how and why her technique is translatable to industry standards and practices. Chef took the time to show us how to correct our (many) mistakes and highlights the artisanal details necessary to perfect our dish. We are already looking forward to our next class, hopefully one which includes fruity tarts! Thank you Chef Stephanie!
