Cooking Class: Seasonal Italian Cooking

Experience what it means to cook with the seasons in this hands-on cooking class, as you prepare signature Italian dishes using fresh, in-season ingredients from the farmers market.

Italian-trained Chef Chris knows that the secret to really amazing Italian food lies in seasonality, so together you'll create a menu based on locally-harvested ingredients. You'll start by building a white bean crostini with rosemary, roasted garlic and extra virgin olive oil before preparing a fresh kale insalata topped with pumpkin seeds and a citrus vinaigrette. For the main course, you'll highlight locally grown asparagus and mint in a savory lemon risotto dish. Lastly, you'll enjoy a pear and ricotta cake for a divine and seasonal fruit-based dessert.

My teenage kids and I gifted this experience to my husband, and we all had a blast. We all got to participate throughout the lesson, and the kids gained some much needed cooking experience. Plus, Chris taught us some special techniques to up our game at home. Highly, highly recommend.

Chef seemed distracted and we didn’t get as much teaching and hands on as I hade hoped for. The Tiramisu came out more like a soup.

I know the problems I had weren’t Chef Chris’ fault but the room we were supposed to be in was occupied so the room we did have was freezing! We had to keep taking breaks which made the process longer. I wish we had been able to make the sauce as well. Class ran a little over. Nonetheless, chef was amazing and very helpful even with all the participants. I would take the class again because I definitely enjoyed the atmosphere
