Team Building Activity: Who's the Next Iron Chef?
In this hands-on team building activity hosted by Chef Ivan, your team will engage in a riveting cooking competition to determine who's the next iron chef! First, your group will be divided into two teams. Then, each team will receive a basket with a main ingredient — pork, chicken or salmon — and two surprise ingredients that must be used. Next, the teams will put their culinary and teamwork skills to the test with one hour and 30 minutes to prepare and plate their final dishes. Throughout the challenge, Chef Ivan will be available to both teams to assist with questions about tools and techniques. After time's up, you'll share your creations!

Ingredients may include
Vegetables with tomatoes, mushrooms, carrots, celery roots or spinach
Spices, including cumin, cilantro, curry, nutmeg, honey, sriracha and paprika
Legumes with string beans, pinto, borlotti, chickpeas or northern beans
Potatoes with Yukon, Idaho, baby purple or fingerling
Fruit with oranges, figs, apples, grapes or pineapple
Tiramisu Gelato

Chef Ivan and his team were friendly and patient throughout the whole process. It was an engaging experience and my partner and I enjoyed making the pasta dough since it was our first time. The pasta was so delicious and it was nice enjoying the fruits of our labor at the end!

I'm sure this course would have been wonderful, but for the second time in a row, I got a notification last minute saying not enough people had signed up and therefore they were canceling the class.

Meet your chef
Chef Ivan began attending culinary school at the tender age of 14. His adventures in the world of food preparation took him through Europe and eventually brought him to New York, where he manages a catering company and volunteers teaching children's cooking classes. With a focus on sushi, Italian and French cuisines, Chef Ivan is always excited to share novel kitchen techniques with his guests and students.
