Online Cooking Class: Plant-Based Burgers and Street Tacos

Whether you're fully vegan or just tipping your toe in the water, this live online cooking class with Chef Megan will help you learn the ropes of plant-based cooking.


She will show you how to prepare two vegan dishes that are so tasty, you definitely won't miss the meat, dairy or eggs. Start off with a healthy, homemade vegetable burger made with sweet potatoes and beans. This virtual cooking class will also teach you how to make spicy tacos filled with meaty pulled jackfruit and a chipotle adobo sauce as your final dish.

Ingredients

Uncooked millet

Sweet potato

Filtered water

Cooked great northern beans

Raw pumpkin or sunflower seeds

Extra virgin olive oil

Spike! or all-purpose seasoning

Cayenne pepper

Cumin

Sea salt

Ground black pepper

Brioche hamburger buns

Top burgers with: Tomatoes, lettuce, mustard, mayonnaise or avocado

Can of green jackfruit in water

Avocado oil

Sweet onion

Garlic cloves

Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce

Serve tacos with: Small corn or flour tortillas, sliced avocado, shredded purple cabbage, shredded carrots, and limes

10 or 12-inch sauté pan

Chef Megan was amazing and a joy to be around! She really took the time to make us feel welcome and comfortable. She taught us some of her knife techniques and let us use all of her kitchen gadgets, which made the cooking process more fun. The food came out to be so delicious and healthy! My sister really enjoyed this birthday gift. I highly recommend taking a class with Chef Megan.
