Kristy Bowen
DIY | Art | Writing |
A writer and book artist, Kristy Bowen makes a living penning creative lifestyle content for a number of web publications, including Classpop! and House Digest. Much of her professional writing focuses on design and décor, with an emphasis on vintage design, antiques, thrifting, DIY projects, upcycling and repurposing. Similar work has appeared previously at Worthpoint, E-How, Cozymeal, Thriftcon, Homes.com and others.
Bowen blogs regularly about writing and art at DULCETLY: NOTES ON A BOOKISH LIFE. She also creates a monthly series of zines, artists books, and objects, including several full-length books of poetry and hybrid writing. Bowen occasionally teaches workshops in poetry, zine-making, collage, altered books, printmaking, and paper crafting. She holds graduate degrees in literature and creative writing from DePaul University (M.A.) and Columbia College (M.F.A).
Bowen is currently working on a memoir that blends two of her favorite things: thrifting and writing. She also adores horror movies, live theater, coffee, tattoos, and mid-century office chairs. She lives in Chicago.
