Cooking Class: Go Greek: Four Staple Recipes

Chef Keith helps you create a traditional Mediterranean menu using recipes from his own family.

The cuisine of the Mediterranean is considered one of the healthiest diets in the world. In this hands-on cooking class, Chef Keith explores the childhood recipes of his grandmother YaYa as he teaches you to craft a hearty and healthful meal.

Prepare a rich spanakopita filled with cheese and spinach, a horiatiki salad with fresh vegetables and arni souvlaki made of lamb, yogurt and spices. Traditional baklava with flaky phyllo layers and walnuts makes a perfect desert for this satisfying menu.

Excellent experience. Keith is very knowledgeable, friendly, instructive, and passionate about food! My husband and I had a really fun time and left really really full. We are planning on taking another cooking class with him in the future. Highly recommend!

This "cooking class" felt more like a casual dinner experience than an instructional session. The recipe-following approach lacked the expected teaching and proactive engagement with skills and ingredients. Unfortunately, there were off-putting transphobic comments made by the chef, making the atmosphere uncomfortable. I interjected since it is not ok to make comments degrading someone’s identity because of your lack of understanding. Also for the price, I came to cook not talk politics or feel uncomfortable. I was also surprised by some of the prep like washing lettuce, I get this needs to get done but everyone knows how to wash lettuce, focusing on the other aspects that most people don’t know would have been more beneficial. I do want to highlight that the end products were delicious. Hopefully changes are made to the format to elevate the experience.
