Chef Jarrett will teach you how to make gourmet dishes with flare. You'll begin by making tostada cups with corn tortillas filled with tender chipotle chicken and topped with creamy Mexican cheese. Next, make golden and crispy quesadillas stuffed with earthy spinach and mushrooms and queso fresca. Cook fluffy cilantro-lime rice to enjoy as a side. Then, finish the meal by whipping up decadent churro cheesecake bars with cinnamon and brown sugar for a decadent dessert. The chef arrived over 30 minutes late, and once the class began, we watched him prepare sushi rather than actively participating. Only four volunteers were invited to take part, leaving the rest of us as spectators. My boyfriend and I received just 1.5 pieces of sushi each- far from the “meal” that was promised in the purchase details. After spending over $100 on this class, we ended up having to go out to dinner afterward. Unfortunately, I didn’t learn anything and left feeling very disappointed.

The sushi class my husband and friend attended at Peticolas Brewing Company with Chef Jarrett was a major disappointment and felt like a case of false advertising. We signed up with the expectation of a hands-on experience, learning the basics of making classic sushi as described in the class description. Unfortunately, that’s not what we received. The class, which was advertised as a 2-hour hands-on workshop, was rushed through in just 45 minutes. To make matters worse, Chef Jarrett arrived 45 minutes late and spent much of the class commenting on how hot he was, wiping sweat off his face near the food, which was unhygienic and incredibly off-putting. There was little to no structure, the ingredients provided were subpar, and the setup felt disorganized from start to finish. Chef Jarrett seemed more focused on speeding through a demo than actually teaching us anything valuable. Only four rolls were made for a group of 22 people, and unless you were quick (and lucky), you didn’t get a taste. Overall, the experience was chaotic and frustrating. If you're genuinely interested in learning how to make sushi, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. This class did not deliver on its promises and was not worth the time or money!

Disappointed – Not What Was Advertised Unfortunately, this experience did not live up to expectations. It was advertised as a hands-on sushi-making class, but that’s not what we received. While the chef and his assistant were personable, they arrived late, and not every individual or group had the opportunity to prepare sushi themselves. It felt more like a demonstration than an interactive class. For the price, we definitely did not get our money’s worth. Disappointing overall.
