Cooking Class: Healthy Vegetarian Indian Cooking

In this hands-on cooking class, Chef Parsati will teach you how to prepare four vegetarian Indian dishes from minimal fresh ingredients, so you can feel confident cooking up comforting and healthy weeknight meals. 

You will first use lentils, spices and garlic to cook a hearty yellow dal fry before whipping up an onion and mint raita dip to serve on the side with crispy papadam crackers. You'll follow your starter with a rich and savory cauliflower and potato dish, aloo gobi masala. Lastly, you will prepare berry pulao, a comforting rice dish featuring traditional spices, fruits, and nuts. 


Yellow Dal Fry

With cauliflower, potatoes and tomato-based gravy

With basmati rice, ghee, cumin, peas and artisan pulao spice mix

Chef Parsati gave us an excellent date night cooking experience. She welcome us into her home, was very safety conscious with regards to Covid and taught us some delicious dishes that I can’t wait to remake at home. Would happily book another class with her in the future.

I have had the pleasure of taking Chef Parsati’s “A Tour of Northern India” class. In a warm and inviting atmosphere, Chef Parsati provided detailed and easy-to-follow instruction, including interesting background on the many ingredients, as well as generalized cooking tips that will apply well beyond the particular dishes prepared.
