Pottery Class: Carve a Sgraffito Plate

Join Instructor Na’ama for a hands-on sgraffito pottery workshop and explore a timeless ceramic carving technique.

Working on a handmade soft clay plate prepared in advance, you’ll carve through a rich slip surface to reveal the natural clay beneath. Create striking contrasts, delicate illustrations, geometric patterns or meaningful words as you transform clay into a one-of-a-kind functional piece of art. No drawing experience is needed. Bring a picture to trace and create your design with confidence. Your finished 8-inch ceramic plate will be kiln-fired and ready for pickup in three to four weeks.
