I took Chef Birdie’s sushi, cooking class. The chef was entertaining welcoming and just made the class fun. The food delicious. I am so proud of myself. I was on a solo date. I thought it would be hard or awkward to be alone. I met some new friends and I can’t wait to attend her next class.

Birdie was a lot of fun, and we had a good time! I wish she provided disposable food gloves and the small knives were just way too dull but otherwise the class was well supplied.

My finance and I enjoyed learning how to make sushi, and Birdie is an excellent teacher. It was a birthday gift experience for him that we'd never done before and would likely do again. On the downside, we weren't too happy with the last-minute change of menu that eliminated salmon, replacing it with cooked chicken to appease one person's food allergy. I've never had sushi with cooked chicken and won't ever again. Also, a bit more of a closing to the class would have been better than just finishing our sushi construction, packaging it up and then she was gone. I was hoping to hear that we could get the recipe for the sticky rice emailed to us, or suggestions of other combinations we might try on our own. All in all, though, it was a fun experience and I'm looking forward to trying sushi on my own.
