Chef Malik seemed to mean well so we’ve been back and forth on writing this, but also based on the price felt others should know as too many positive reviews led us to spending money on this class in the first place. First our class was changed from the brewery we wanted to try to a different location the day before. Upon arrival a bartender told us they hadn’t actually seen the chef and someone could probably refund us if he didn’t show. After class was supposed to start one of the bartends saw him still setting up and let us and the other couple know. He was still setting up for another 15 or so minutes and was rather disorganized throughout digging kitchen supplies out of messy kitchen suitcases. It was nice that he brought a variety of seafood to surprise us as a small class however it took forever to make everything. Luckily our kids were staying somewhere overnight and we were not supposed to be home at a specific time as we finished almost an hour late. Chef overshared and used inappropriate jokes. We love a good joke or pun, but they should be professional and probably food related. He also only used warm water and vinegar to clean things and assured us this was fine. Not a single spice beyond garlic was added to the Alfredo and he made an uncomfortable experience videoing us taste it and inquiring if it’s the best we’ve ever had so we sort of felt obligated to say yes. It unfortunately was lacking and our noodles didn’t turn out well either, but that could of been our fault. On the positive side we did not end up with food poisoning and shared the uncomfortable experience with each other and another couple so it seemed a little less bad
