Photography Class: Composition in the Field - Detroit Eastern Market
Learn composition in a photography class at Detroit’s Eastern Market.
You’ll use the rule of thirds to frame vendors and displays, leading lines to guide the viewer’s eye and layering to add depth in busy spaces. The instructor also covers framing with stalls and signage, capturing patterns in produce and finding contrast in color and texture. It’s all about reacting to the energy while staying intentional. With constant movement and endless subjects, you’ll quickly start seeing scenes differently. By the end, your photos feel structured, vibrant and far more compelling than quick snapshots.

Very nice group of people and made sure every detail was planned out thoroughly. Ron, who was our photographer instructor, was very good as laying out how our camera works. Very nice introduction.
