Cooking Class: Flavorful Korean-Lowcountry Fusion

In this memorable fusion cooking class, you’ll put a Korean twist on South Carolina Lowcountry favorites. Chef Elon will teach you how to prepare Lowcountry staples that burst with Korean flavors — a perfect marriage of these two distinct cuisines. You’ll first make chicken grits with soy sauce, brown sugar and ginger. For the main attraction, you’ll cook a Gulf shrimp boil with Korean sweet potatoes, corn and gochujang (Korean hot sauce). To finish the meal, Chef Elon will demonstrate how to make mochi cupcakes drizzled in sweet tea glaze.
