Inappropriate setting for a cooking class - outside in a noisy bar.with uncomfortable chairs. We thought we’d be participating and learning to make sushi from washing rice to rolling the maki and actually learning how to do it at home. . Instead , we simply were told very quickly what ingredients were being used and then served some food. - 2/ pieces of sushi and a small poke bowl- no beverages or talk of what goes with the meal like sake , no Japanese names for the items or a little history— just quick fast talking . I was quite disappointed . Teacher does not seem to know a lot about the art of cooking classes and how good ones are held. We were told we’d get recipes but never given a place to get our names etc.

The setting of the cooking class was not conducive to learning. The loud music made it difficult to hear the instructor’s instructions. She spoke quickly and had everything already prepared, which made the process seem rushed and unprofessional. The way she threw the wrappers onto the table and plopped her already made meat mixture onto a plate was quite gross. The only instruction given was how to wrap the dumpling, which was not very helpful. The class was supposed to last two hours. It started at 5:30. She was all packed up and walked out the door at 6:31, leaving us with little instruction and mediocre food. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
