It was a pleasure being taught a few French recipes by Chef Joy! She was very knowledgeable and guided us through every step. She was also very adaptable to mine and my husbands’ skill levels, which were not the same. We would definitely take another class of hers!

The food was great but Chef Joy was very disorganized and that really took away from the experience. The event was in common area of an apartment complex, not even hers. She had to keep going back and forth to someone’s apartment to get things she forgot and to do all the baking. The event started an hour late because another couple was late. That couple thought they were getting a private event and were very disappointed when they arrived and there were 2 other couples there. Chef Joy arrived 20 minutes later herself. Much of the cooking utensils were still dirty from a previous event and had to be cleaned before we used them. She seems to how to cook good food but for the cost I would have expected a much better experience.

True to her name, Chef Joy brings a spirit of happiness with her whenever she enters the kitchen. As a college student, she launched a soul-food delivery service, expanding into catering, private chef experiences and culinary instruction. Chef Joy's visible passion for sharing inventive and creative dishes inspires her to create meals that feed all of the senses. No matter what she prepares, her zest for life is always part of the recipe.
