Cooking Class: Knife Skills Academy
Improve your knife skills while whipping up an elevated multi-course meal in this cooking class with Chef Karen.
You'll begin the class by prepping herbs and garlic to make crispy garlic coated in buttered breadcrumbs. Next, you'll chop onions to season chicken stock to make a tender braised chicken. Practice slicing and dicing sweet potatoes, red onions and pomegranates for crisp roasted vegetables in a sweet pomegranate molasses. On the side, enjoy an aromatic rice pilaf with hand-chopped mint, cilantro and parsley. End the class on a sweet note with a surprise dessert prepared by the chef in advance. Chef Karen was an incredible teacher. The class was inviting and I was encouraged to get out of my comfort zone with flavours, techniques, and foods. Would strongly recommend this class and Chef Karen as an instructor for all levels of home cooks.

Chef Karen is a Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts graduate with nearly two decades of professional cooking experience. She works as a private chef and cooking instructor and formerly owned her own prepared meals and catering company. In Chef Karen's words: “Great cooking isn’t about recipes, it’s about techniques," which she aims to pass along to her students. She prides herself on offering cooking classes and team-building events that are fun, hands-on and educational.
