In this hands-on class with Chef Yaakov, you’ll learn to prepare variations of onigiri, a compact Japanese rice ball stuffed with meat and vegetable fillings and wrapped in a sheet of toasted nori. Begin by learning the technique for preparing a perfect pot of sushi rice, a true necessity in mastering this dish. Then, you’ll use fresh, high-quality ingredients to create three popular onigiri fillings, including tuna and green onion with carrots and soy sauce, salted salmon with cucumber, nori and roe, and your choice of either red bean paste or pickled plums.
